The Villagers are getting Restless

There was some sorta excitement today… something about protesters storming Speaker Pelosi’s offices, both in DC and SF, trying to force action on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. On top of that Lt. Dan Choi, poster boy for the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, usurped a press event that HRC was holding on behalf of Kath Griffin’s D-list visit to the nation’s capital by taking to podium and imploring rally attendees to follow him as he marched to the White House… and handcuffed himself to the fence outside.

Geeze it’s almost like this was almost co-ordinated or something. Towleroad and AMERICAblog have more. See Lt. Choi’s speech to the Rally after the jump…

Be Good Johnny Weir?

Sundance channel decided to give Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir his own show. I’m unconvinced that this was a wise idea, however if this clip is any indication it might be worth just to see him walk around in briefs finding various ways to use  a massager…

What goes around…

So apparently having a 100% rating from the anti-gay Capitol Resource Family Impact group for voting against every LGBT rights bill during your tenure means that you’re inevitably going to get busted as a hypocritical douchebag for a DUI as you leave a gay bar in Sacramento with another man in your car.

At least if you’re Roy Ashburn, R-Bakersfield.

Westboro Baptists Protest Wilson High School

Last week the Westboro Baptist Church decided to march outside Wilson High School in Long Beach. What they were met with was thousands of students counter protesting in a crowd that dwarfed their own. Sometimes I wonder if they realize they’re galvanizing thousands of people who would never take a stand for or against gay issues into strong supporters for the cause they oppose. Probably not, that’d require a little more self-reflection than they seem capable of.

Atlanta, GA, February 5, 2010: On his debut mix-tape titled “Sneak Preview” Anye Elite sets out to prove that love and music are truly universal. Last Summer Anye premiered his first single, the catchy boy on boy love song “I Got Him” at Atlanta’s Black Gay Pride.  Since then the song has been downloaded over 6,000 times, featured in various blogs and publications, and is currently in rotation on numerous radio stations across the country.  Not bad for a 21 year old who records, produces, and manages his career from a bedroom.

You turn into a diva when you’re hungry…

I find this new Snickers ad entertaining but I’m not really sure straight guys will get it (Liza Minnelli, really?) and I’m almost positive gay men don’t eat Snickers if they can help it.

On the other hand, this vid has pretty much gone viral at this point so perhaps it doesn’t matter…
